How do i remove multiple fan pages and group pages on facebo

My friend has an old computer, and just got internet at her house through the cable company. She has an older modem, a surfboard sb5100, that she had used when she had the internet a few years ago. She didn't have the disk, so I downloaded the drivers and brought them over, and installed them when windows "recognized a new device". Problem is, it should be working,loos like it is working on the computer, but the online light on the modem is off, and it is only connected at 12 Mbps. In the Network Connections window, it says Local Area Network- cable unplugged, but it has another connection called "surfboard modem", - connected at 12 Mbps. Need help!!
